Mineralogie goes step beyond mineral-based makeup, Takes entire company “eco-friendly”

Dallas – September 11, 2007 – Mineralogie, the leading mineral makeup company has built its entire business on the core values of health conscious-beauty. Its line of natural mineral-based makeups are more than beautiful, they are actually good for your skin. The company is taking the same approach to operating its business.

The company has recently undergone a “green transformation” seeking to be as environmentally friendly as possible in every area of the business. Most notably, the creation of new biodegradable packaging for its product line. By 2008, Mineralogie’s packaging will utilize 100% organic and/or recycled materials. Some packaging is made from corn, other boxes and product wraps are made from recycled papers that come from sustainable tree farms.

Mineralogie has adopted several other green practices. The company rotates “work from home” hours for employees to reduce car emissions. Even owner, Mary Van, rides her bike to work. Mineralogie utilizes re-cycled packing and boxes for shipments whenever possible, as well as milo grain resin biodegradable peanuts.

In addition, the company has switched to Green Mountain Energy as its electricity provider to reduce air pollution. The company purchases recycled papers and reuses scrap paper at the office creatively as note pads.

Not least on the list of green practices, light bulbs around the office are energy-efficient. The company even purchased additional energy-efficient bulbs for employees to take home.

Future plans include 100% biodegradable product containers. Mineralogie is actively seeking other cosmetic companies interested in joining forces to make development and procurement of these types of product containers happen faster.
