The evolution of Mineralogie
Mary Van founded Demaur Cosmetics in 1989 as an industry solution. Having worked as a makeup artist in the late ‘70s, Mary struggled with making the bold frosted colors work for print and media. Armed with determination and an innate sense of color and composition, Mary created a cosmetics line designed specifically for makeup artists frustrated by the same issues. And Demaur was born. In the ‘90s, mineral makeup was introduced to the public through private label and custom blend. It offered the best of both worlds…it blended beautifully and was healthy for the skin. Excited by the benefits of mineral makeup, Mary created Mineralogie as a division of Demaur, to exclusively offer these amazing mineral products.
